What is it about ethics—or the Coaching Ethics Forum—that resonates with you? Why does this work matter to you personally and professionally, and how do you see yourself contributing to the conversation through CEF?
For me ethics is the heart of our practice. It is the glue that forms who we are, what we do, the values we espouse, the decisions we take, the way we interact with people including those we work with, and what we believe is “right” and “wrong”, is or is not “true”. While I am interested in, and write about, many areas, for me ethics is the foundation for it all. It is fundamentally relational, so impacts every relationship, our personal and professional decisions, the assumptions we make, what we hold to be truths, consciously and unconsciously, and is influenced by our backgrounds, our culture, our identity. Understanding ourselves and the role of ethics, is lifelong work, for which I have a passion, a passion shared by, and explored through, the CEF. And it is an ongoing privilege to have dialogues on this in the CEF’s webinars and conferences, from contracting and dealing with the unexpected, to ethics and the ecological environment.
