CEF2025 Brought Indigenous, Interfaith and Global Perspectives Together in Landmark Ethics Conference

The Coaching Ethics Forum (CEF) held its 2025 global conference online on 2–3 December 2025, convening what it described as the most globally diverse programme in its history under the theme Conscious Power for Ethical Maturity: Exploring Integrity, Influence and Responsibility.

At a time when leadership, coaching, and organisational life are increasingly shaped by questions of influence, accountability, technology, and trust, CEF2025 stood out for the breadth of voices it brought into dialogue. Most notably, the conference featured five Indigenous panels spanning Australia, India, Southeast Asia, South Africa, and the Americas, creating space for ethical reflection grounded in wisdom traditions, land, kinship, collective responsibility, and lived cultural experience.

The programme also included a distinctive interfaith dialogue bringing Christian, Buddhist, Jewish, and Muslim perspectives into conversation on spirituality, ethics, and the use of power. Together, these sessions broadened the ethical conversation well beyond conventional professional frameworks, inviting participants to engage with moral maturity through cultural, spiritual, and relational lenses.

Across the two-day event, speakers and panellists explored a wide range of urgent contemporary issues, including organisational power, mentoring beyond hierarchy, the ethical dimensions of listening, sexual ethics in coaching, and the growing implications of artificial intelligence for coaching and professional responsibility. Sessions on AI and ethics examined both practical and philosophical concerns around trust, safety, judgement, and the future of responsible practice.

CEF2025 also marked the launch of the inaugural Champions of Courage Awards, created to recognise individuals demonstrating courage, integrity, and ethical action across sectors. The awards formed part of a wider conference narrative that linked dialogue with lived ethical practice.

The conference further signalled the growth of a broader ecosystem around ethical practice. During the event, attention was drawn to the launch of Ethics Forum International, a cross-domain initiative advancing ethical maturity and ethicality across professional and societal contexts, alongside the full launch of Ethics Beyond the Code and the continued development of Ethics Circles, the CEF AI Ethics Collective, and the Coaching Ethics Forum Research Guidance Team.

Founded as an independent global platform, the Coaching Ethics Forum exists to strengthen ethical awareness, dialogue, and practice across coaching, mentoring, and leadership. The 2025 conference demonstrated how ethical inquiry can be deepened when Indigenous knowledge, interfaith perspectives, professional research, and lived practice are brought into the same international space.
